The World Stand Up Paddleboard Association was created in 2009 by a network of paddlers who realized the need for a safe and consistent stand up paddle program of good practices in order to teach, instruct, and get new paddlers out on the water.  The combination of life guards, state park rangers, stand up paddling professionals, search and rescue employees, and international SUP business owners have brought a wealth of knowledge to build the best possible program.
